A smile

09 November 2014

A smile – can it impact moods? According to a study in sydney nursing homes, participants were involved in humor therapy sessions over 22 months. The results showed reduced anxiety, increased social confidence and quality of life. No significant difference was made with depression, however a psychologist in 1989 studied the effect of facial expressions and found that making an 'e' sound increased happier feelings.

If smiling can make a difference try smiling as soon as you wake up. Don't think or plan, just smile for a couple of minutes and feel the impact. Smile at passers by in the streets of Coogee. Let us know how it works.
